Mud Magic
Mud Magic was born from a deep desire to help and nurture a thriving pottery community. When I first began my journey in pottery, I quickly realized how transformative this art form could be—not just for me, but for others as well. Pottery is more than just creating objects; it’s a meditative process, a form of expression, and a way to connect with others who share the same passion.

Originally from the United States, I moved to New Zealand in 2015 to be with my Kiwi partner, My journey in creativity has taken me through countless hobbies, but it wasn’t until I discovered pottery that I truly found my passion. From the moment I first made something with clay, I knew I had found something special, and I’ve been dedicated to the craft ever since.
Just before the first COVID-19 lockdown, I invested in my own pottery wheel. With all the extra time on my hands, I immersed myself in the craft, practicing daily. Those days were transformative—I ended up making about 90 cups during that period, and each one marked a step forward in my journey.
In 2021, I decided to share my love for pottery by teaching others. What started as a way to connect with people during uncertain times quickly became my calling. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed teaching, and before long, I left my day job to become a full-time potter.
Teaching pottery has become one of the greatest joys of my life. I love customizing my approach to meet each student's unique needs and witnessing the pride and excitement on their faces when they successfully throw their first piece. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching hundreds of people how to throw on the wheel, and each experience has made me a better potter.
I’m always here as a resource, whether you’re a student of mine or just someone curious about the art of pottery. Feel free to reach out with any questions—I’m here to help!
